Otherwise they seem to be a "stand alone" being unrelated to anything else, compared to e.g. I don't know however what's up with the dragon-like attributes to it (head shape, scales/horns and all that stuff) since I can't remember the Everlasting Dragons to anyhow be related to the Abyss, so that's mostly a mysteryĪs well I cannot explain to myself why they're extremely vulnerable to fire, much less so to lightning despite their visual connection with dragons (which are allergic to lightning), so maybe they're made of abyssal Oil *shrug* Their glowy red eyes are shared with other enemies you'll face throughout the rest of the game which are considerably stronger than the normal variants, so they would have to be corrupted just as well (and since they can be found all over DS3 it might mean that the Abyss is more important/present than one might think) I recall lore bits saying that they're spawns of the Abyss which sprout on beings corrupted by it, which leads to the assumption that Iudex Gundyr is corrupted by it, much like Oolacile citizens or Sir Artorias in DS1 (although there it had different effects) He appears at the end of the Cemetery of Ash, and opens the way to Firelink Shrine after you defeat him.He wields a polearm and has a transformation halfway through the battle. I'd expect if you wanted a decently detailed figurine, you'd need to model extra detail into the mesh to replicate the textures and have access to (or pay to use) an SLA style 3D printer. Those are monsters called Pus of Man but I prefer to call them cancer bros just for the hell of it Iudex Gundyr is the first boss in Dark Souls 3. It looks like those who have successfully grabbed some of the basic enemies didn't have too much trouble getting the maps to work as well, but more importantly, a lot of the detail in model is going to be stored in the textures and don't exist "physically" in the mesh, so to speak. Of course, there's also the issue that the textures are saved as separate files. Ensure the model is solid and doesn't have any normal alignment problems Upload permission You are not allowed to upload this file to other sites. Other users assets All the assets in this file belong to the author, or are from free-to-use modders resources. Repeat the last 3 steps for Gundyr's halberd, which I would expect exists as its own file The halberd used by the boss Iudex Gundyr from the game 'Dark Souls III.' Share.
Either import the skeleton with more scripting so you can pose him, or rig the model up again yourself (assuming the model import didn't totally ruin the topology)
Import it into some 3D software with a specially made script that can decode the file, which would give you Gundyr in his modeling "T-Pose" Locate which model file is Gundyr (which I wasn't able to do), To get this to work, you'd need to:- Be able to unpack all of the game's data (which I was able to do)
There seems to be a few people who have had some success, but I've only seen a handful of the normal enemies floating around.
The problem is that even the basic 3D models are wrapped up in file types that aren't typical for 3D modeling software. It's probably a lot easier to try and hook up with someone who can model to whip up a good simulacrum.Īfter hunting around a bunch, I found that it is in fact possible to extract the 3D models from the game. TL DR, This is entirely doable, but not without a great deal of effort and know-how, and likely couldn't be done quickly. PS: I know some of this is less designing and more game programming.Įdit: I somehow screwed up the hyperlink, now fixed.
If i could choose a pose for him tho, it would be him holding his halberd like this here.
I'm open to suggestions on how to do it, or someone wanting to do it, or a notice of "It is impossible.". Of that idea I spoke with a few friends and was told it is possible, but neither them or I know how to do it. My final idea was to somehow extract the model from the game, assemble the guy and then somehow export it as a solid. Then i got to thinking if I could hire someone to do it, no luck either (no one here where i live do this kind of thing). I looked up in the web if anyone had already done a 3d model good for printing of him, no luck. But before you can reach Firelink Shrine, you’ll have to face Dark Souls 3’s first boss, Iudex Gundyr. My friend's birthday is coming up and i wanted to give to her a miniature, like 15 cm tall, of Iudex Gundyr the first boss of DS3 because he was what started our friendship. You’ll start your journey in the Cemetery of Ash. So, I'm a designer but my area of expertise is mechanical designs for electronics, so i know i don't have the knowledge to do what i want.
